It is so lovely to welcome you to my site, and thank you for taking the time to get to know the face behind Building Beautiful Brands.
My name is Kristen Davies, and this is the second business I am sharing with the world, and one I am truly, deeply proud of.
If it wasn’t already obvious from the very first product I’m launching, The Business Planner, I am totally and utterly obsessed with all things business. I love talking about business, researching business, watching anything business related and, most importantly, I love helping people start businesses of their own.
Where did the idea come from?
For some people, their business idea arrives in one big epiphany moment. For others, and certainly for me, it is more of a slow burn.
It came through little questions asked frequently, patterns I started to notice and conversations with people who were curious about how I had built my first business.
When I started my first business at the ripe old age of 18, one question came up time and time again:
“How did you do it?”
Closely followed by:
“How do you actually start a business?”
And so, the seed was planted.
I knew I wanted to create something that simplified the process of starting a business. Something that clearly laid out what you needed to know, brought all of that information together in one place and, of course, removed the incomprehensible business jargon.
Because here’s the thing. People have incredible ideas. Some of them could genuinely change the world. But having an amazing idea and knowing where to start are two very different things.
I wanted to bridge that gap.
From idea to reality
In March 2022, the concept finally got a name: The Dream Business Planner.
One I suspected wouldn’t stick.
I created a 3D cloud on a pretty gradient background, set up an Instagram account, scribbled down some notes and then… left it there.
At the time, the whole idea felt far too overwhelming to actually begin.
Then, in 2023, the idea was revisited. She got a revamp, a new name, A Brand Plan, and I got as far as writing the concept out on a whiteboard that I still have sitting in my garage today.
And you might be thinking, “Wow, what took you so long to start, Kristen?”
Well, between a house renovation, a wedding, travelling the world, a full-time job and the ever-present reality of just how massive this project was going to be, it took me a little while to finally take the leap.
That leap came in June 2024.
And since then, I have spent every free waking moment, late night, weekend and spare minute on holidays bringing The Business Planner to life.
It has been a huge undertaking, but it has also been one of the most exciting and rewarding things I have ever created.
And now, it is finally here.
And now, it’s your turn.

My hope is that it takes some of the overwhelm out of starting a business, gives you clarity around what comes next and helps you turn that idea in your head into something real.
